“You are today where your thoughts have brought you, and you will be tomorrow where your thoughts do take you” James Alen
After having been diagnosed with lung Cancer in November 2022, I reluctantly started Chemo in January 2023. The thought of having chemicals pumped into my body, was not something I ever wanted to do, but given the circumstances and any other alternatives I was aware of, I endured the regular chemo sessions throughout 2023.
Stress and worry were my every day ‘self-inflicted’ treatments and unbeknown to me at the time, were the ingredients that the cancer cells thrived on. I started to read up on alternative treatments, the implementation of these suggestions I did struggle to implement without the expert guidance and direction of anyone I knew of at the time.
In October 2023, I moved to Hermanus, and continued the chemo treatment for another 7 months, albeit with an “upgrade” and reportedly, the “gold standard” of chemo protocol for lung cancer.
I then undertook a PET scan, previously I had only done a few CAT scans, and the results showed that the cancer was still active and not responding to the effects of the chemo.
Now after 18 months I was back to square one and an admission by the Oncologist that there was nothing more they could do, remember I had been on the “gold standard” treatment!!
Whether you believe in coincidences, divine intervention or the universal laws that are not man made, invented or manipulated by them, I met Dr Julienne Fenwick who, unlike the traditional medical specialists and surgeons’ profession, gave me a real understanding of lung cancer and the natural treatments, protocols and nutrition that she uses to treat cancer.
I am presently undergoing intra-venous vitamin C therapy and a range of natural supplements, and I am having a good clinical response thus far. I have no shortness of breath, or fatigue, as would be expected in someone with my condition. My saturation levels are stable, and I am doing well, swimming three times a week and walking regularly and feeling great. I have none of the side effects that chemo leaves you with.
When faced with the big C, it is quite daunting, its confusing and certainly at times overwhelming. The key influences for me where, understanding of the treatments, education of the factors influencing cancer, to have trust, confidence and support from the medical professional accompanying you on the journey.
Like everything in life, it begins with a thought. This journey is as much a mental one as it is a medicinal one. I am very grateful to have met Dr Julienne Fenwick and have her and now accompany me on my own journey.
If you are faced with a similar challenge, a consultation with Julienne will leave you with the correct knowledge and education, putting you in a position to make an informed decision. Knowing and not doing is the same as not knowing
